Giving Props

I believe in spreading the love.  There are good people out there, writing interesting things and expressing interesting opinions.  I want to be able to direct you to them because I think they are worthy of your attention.

My friends, The Squire and his wife, have sites that you’d like.  The Squire is a car nut and home brewer.  I like his writing style:  some well-placed humor and loads of style.  even if you’re not into these two subject, give it a look.  His wife has a site, Sweet Pearl Vintage, where she sells vintage pottery and ephemera from a bygone era.  She has “wicked good taste”, as we say on the coast.  You can find both sites by clicking on “Delirium Tremiens” in my blogroll.

The other site I found recently, courtesy of Dizzyblonde, called Stories By The Stove, a mish-mash of  Irish heritage, pub culture, New York City history, and unexpected pleasures.  I had a blast going through the NYC trivia posts.  I’ll be checking in there on and off.

Those who post here do it for a reason:  we are creative and have a story to tell.  Some give just the tale, others embelish with clever graphics and photos.  We all deserve to be read.  Spread the love, would you?

    Hey there, Middle-Aged Head.
Thanks for the nice words. I appreciate it.
I’ve finally convinced a friend of mine, who is a really fine writer, to let me print a story she sent me of her grandfather, who owned a small knish shop on the Lower East Side. It’s a touching story and I hope you enjoy. Today or tomorrow.
Okay, I’m going to look around and see what you’re up to here. I see you’re a Pandora fan. Great site. Listening to some great Irish trad this morn.
    Thanks, again.

Thanks for the tip on the radio sites, Brad. It’s amazing how much free music is available now, and you can program your own stations too. Pretty awesome.
My friend wrote her grandfather NYC Knish story if you’d like to check it out Geez, it brought a tear to my eye. Are you interested in NYC because you’re from the area?
Looks like you’ve been at this blogging business for awhile. Are you finding the experience valuable?
